Cholera KIlls 30 In Ebonyi

Ten more people have been killed in a cholera outbreak in five communities of Ezza North Local Government Area and Ozibo village in Ebonyi L.G.A of Ebonyi state.

About 30 people have now been killed in the outbreak which started in February this year when the first outbreak was recorded in Edomia village in Ebonyi L.G.A of the state. Other victims of the disease are currently receiving treatment in hospitals in the area.

Cholera is an infectious disease that causes severe watery diarrhoea, which can lead to dehydration and even death if untreated. It is caused by eating food or drinking water contaminated with a bacterium called Vibrio cholerae.
