Moscow to Host 2018 Fifa World Cup Opener and Final

The opening and final matches of the 2018 Fifa World Cup will be held in Moscow’s Luzhniki stadium, as Fifa has now confirmed the schedule for the football showpiece event.

The tournament’s quarter-final matches will take place in Kazan, Nizhny, Novgorod, Sochi and Samara, while St Petersburg and Moscow will stage the semi-final fixtures.

Hosts Russia, allocated as team A1, will feature in the opening match on 14 June. The final is scheduled for 15 July.

The 2017 Confederation Cup will be held from 17 June to 2 July. The Confederation Cup is an eight-team tournament featuring champions of each continent the reigning World champions and the host nation.
