APC Governors Set Up Committee On Job Creation

PROGRESSIVE-GOVERNORS-FORUMGovernors on the platform of All Progressive Congress, APC, under the aegis of Progressives Governors Forum, on Thursday, said they had set up a committee on job creation to check the rate of unemployment in the country.

Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Imo, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, disclosed this after the forum’s meeting in Yola, the Adamawa state capital.

Mr. Okoracha said the governors were concerned with the level of poverty in the country.

He said the forum had resolved to tackle the issue, adding, “to this end, a committee headed by Abubakar Bagudu, Governor of Kebbi, has been set up to fashion out action plan”.

Okorocha said the forum had also resolved to meet on monthly basis to assess progress made and how to improve on it and commended Governor Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa for hosting the meeting.

The forum also expressed its condolence to the government and people of Borno over the recent passing away of the state Deputy Governor, Mustapha Zannah.
