Ortom’s Multiple Probe Panels, A Vendetta And Witch Hunt, Says Suswam

Samuel Ortom-Gabriel SuswamThe immediate past governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswan yesterday said he was not afraid of the multiple panels set up by Governor Samuel Ortom to probe his administration.
Suswam also described his successor’s action as “a journey of vendetta and witch hunting”.
Governor Ortom had last week inaugurated two commissions of inquiry into the receipt and utilization of funds by the Suswam administration.
In his address at the inauguration, Mr. Ortom pointed out that the objectives of the panels were not meant not witch-hunt anybody but to set the records straight.
In his reaction, Suswan in a statement through his media aide, Chief Anawah Joseph, said he was not afraid of the multiple panels set up by the All Progressives Congress (APC) government to probe his administration.
He, however, expressed surprise at the level with which the ruling party considered him as a project for persecution.
“Dr. Suswam has no problem with probes. The multiple probe panels limited to his administration is however beyond politics, it is vendetta and witch-hunting”, the statement reads in part.
On the speculation that he ran away in order to avoid probes, the former governor stated that such a move would amount to cowardice after being a political leader of the Benue people for many years.
Suswam further called on all supporters of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to remain resolute, steadfast and strong in order to offer a formidable opposition.
