Spurs Sign Korean Forward, Son From Leverkusen

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of South Korean forward Son Heung-min on a five-year deal.

The 23-year-old has signed for the Lilly Whites from German club Bayer Leverkusen, where he scored 29 goals in 87 appearances.

Tottenham have reportedly paid Leverkusen a fee worth £22m but Son’s deal is subject to work permit and international clearance.

“I’m looking forward to going there and performing for the Spurs fans as soon as possible,” said Son. “Bold and daring – this is how I like to try to play.”

He has been capped 44 times in international stage with 11 goals for South Korea, including one against Algeria at the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
