Adamawa Gov Hails Buhari For Nominating Bello As Minister

Muhammad BelloGovernor Muhammed Umar Jibrilla of Adamawa State has congratulated the former Chairman of the National Hajj Commission, Muhammed Musa Bello, for his nomination as a minister.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Press and Media Affairs, Martins Dickson, the governor called on senators from the state to support the ministerial nominee and enhance his confirmation by the Senate.

Gov. Jibrilla hailed President Muhammadu Buhari “for considering Bello for one of the highest positions of the nation’s leadership”.

The acknowledged the nominee as an illustrious son of the state with a track record of good testimonies while in public service.

The statement also enjoined Adamawa citizens to support the nominee and help him to succeed in his assignment when he eventually secures the confirmation of the Senate.

The governor’s statement calling for support for Mr. Bello came on the heels of a statement credited to organizing secretary of the APC in Adamawa, Mallam Ahmed Lawal, kicking against the former NAHCO boss’ nomination as a minister.

“As a party, we don’t know the nominee because as the organizing secretary of the party who is in charge of registration of members, I doubt if Bello is even a card carrying member of the party.

“We were not consulted before his name was sent. He was never with us during campaigns that usher in APC as the ruling party and we don’t know how his name get there”, he was quoted as saying.
