The lifeless body of Duffoir, father of three, who reportedly committed suicide at his Irhirhi-residence in Benin, was found dangling from a ceiling fan by his wife, Eno, who said the deceased started behaving strangely shortly after he returned from Bayelsa State.

It was gathered that the deceased had been taken to a Psychiatric hospital for treatment in the past, but allegedly escaped back home.

The wife disclosed that she left her husband sleeping in the sitting room but when she returned, she saw him dangling from the ceiling.

In another development, an articulated truck on Tuesday crushed an on identified teenager to death at Adesuwa junction, along Sapele road.

It was gathered that the late boy who was said to be a beverage seller with his brother on the busy road, got knocked down on the verge of collecting payment after attending to a commuter.

“As the boy sold the drink to the passenger, he had to run to collect his money. As he was running, the trailer hit him and he fell down, before the back tyre crushed his head,” an eyewitness said.

The death of the boy reportedly triggered anger among other road sellers, who were said to have seized the truck and were about to attack the driver before he was arrested by policemen from the Ugbor Police Division.

The incident grounded traffic for several hours before the arrival of officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps.

The remains of the boy was later removed from the scene and deposited in a mortuary.
