Ex-PDP National Chairman, Bello Brought To Court On Wheel Chair To Answer Corruption Charges

Mohammed Bello HaliruA former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bello Haliru Mohammed, was on Tuesday arraigned before a Federal High Court, Abuja, on a four count charge bordering on corruption and criminal breach of trust.

Mr. Bello, who was also a Minister of Defence under the Goodluck Jonathan administration, was brought to court by security operatives in a wheel chair.

The ex-Minister, who is being tried by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, alongside his son, Abbah Mohammed and a company, is alleged to have received N600m from the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, in the name of Bam Properties.

The accused persons on Tuesday pleaded not guilty to the charges.
