Tope Aluko, a former Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State now whistle-blower, made some very serious allegations which have caused many to question the credibility of the 2014 gubernatorial election that brought in Ayo Fayose as Governor of Ekiti State. The former PDP chieftain confessed on national television, how he and others conspired with the governor of the state, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, to rig the June 21, 2014 Ekiti State governorship election. INFORMATION NIGERIA has put together the 6 major things Tope Aluko is alleging…

– Aluko had alleged that former President Goodluck Jonathan gave Fayose the sum of $2m to facilitate his victory at the PDP primary and $35m to prosecute the governorship election, if this is true, it is a sad reminder that Nigerian politicians would do anything to get into/remain in power.

– That $35m was in fact given out to prosecute the elections.

– That the PDP led by President Jonathan did all it could, using money and the security agencies to ensure the success of the PDP in that election was guaranteed.

– Aluko had said during his confession that he had evidence to support his claims, therefore anti-graft agencies shouldn’t sweep the matter under the carpet but must carry out further investigationto dig out facts.
