Following the dismissal of Roberto Martinez towards the end of the 2015/2016 season, Everton have remained without a head coach till now.

Despite reports that they had agreed terms with Southampton boss, Ronald Koeman, the Toffees were locked in a compensation battle with Southampton.

Everton will now pay £5m in compensation as Koeman will now leave the Saints where he has managed and achieved impressive results in two years.

Everton’s new owner Farhad Moshiri had little patience for Martinez’s dismal second season and now look to Koeman who guided Southampton to sixth and seventh place finishes in his two seasons to chart a new course.
