Wenger Not Planning to leave Arsenal for France

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed he has no intentions of leaving North London for his native country France.

Wenger joined Arsenal in 1996 and has also coached French sides Nancy and Monaco, raising speculations that he could one day return to manage the French national team.

However the 66-year old who has a year left on his contract has squashed such rumors, publicly.

‘I think this time to move into (international Management) has gone now,’ Wenger told Bein Sport.

‘I have been asked a few times to do it. I was always busy somewhere.’

Nonetheless Wenger is hoping France performs well in the Euro 2016 tournament after they drew Republic of Ireland in the last 16, amid terrorism concerns and chaos between fans.

‘I just want my country to do well and have a good tournament because at the moment this country is going through a very difficult time,’ He said.

‘We have been hit hard through terrorism, strikes and many other unrest.
‘The country is a bit flat mentally at the moment, and they need a bit of happiness.’
