Bukky Ajayi’s Final Public Speech Before Her Death

The movie world was rocked to its core earlier today, as veteran actress Zainab Bukky Ajayi passed away at the age of 82.

Her death comes as a devastating loss and a massive shock to the nation who still remember her last public speech at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards.

At the awards, the audience gave a standing ovation to the 82-year-old grandmother as she was called upon to receive her AMVCA Industry Merit Award in what would be her last appearance onstage.

Despite being on a wheelchair and with tears in her eyes while receiving her award, she pleaded for forgiveness from anyone whom she might have offended in the past decades of her career.

Bukky Ajayi said: “I just want to say to all my friends and non-friends thank you very much, you do not know how much this award means to me. If I have offended in one way or another please find it in your heart to forgive me and if you think you have offended me, don’t worry I have forgiven you a long time ago.” She added that: “I am very happy from the bottom of my heart. I wish I could stand up but if I do I will fall but you all standing for me I say thank you.”
