Chinese Company To Partner Anambra State In Agriculture, Power

The Anambra State government is set to partner with a Chinese company, China CAMC Engineering Limited on four key areas of development in the state viz; agriculture, power, health, as well as oil and gas.

A delegation from the company and some financial partners facilitated by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) disclosing this during a courtesy call on the Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano.

The Managing Director of the company, Mr Yu Tao, who led the delegation expressed their interest to partner the state in these important sectors as he promised that the company would support Anambra State in areas of staple food processing and agricultural mechanisation.

While assuring they made the right choice by coming to the state, Mr Tao also hinted the construction of airport and other transport system, where they intend to engage in intercity and inter-state rail projects.

Expressing his happiness on the partnership, Governor Willie Obiano welcomed the development, especially in the area of oil and gas, as well as power while assuring them of security, saying his administration has made great efforts to ensure that investments and business ventures in the state thrive under a very conducive atmosphere.

The Governor however, promised his administration will ensure the deal is signed into fruition as soon as possible as he further sought their partnership in the development of water transportation and creation of Export Free Zone in the state.
