Multiple explosions rocked Thailand on Thursday evening leaving four people dead and several others injured. Twin bombs went off at a resort in Hua Hin while two more bombs were reported in the southern provinces of Trang and Surat Thani.
The incidents come just a week after Thailand adopted a new constitutional which will see the already powerful military become even more powerful. It is not yet clear if Thursday’s attacks are linked to the new constitution.
Thailand’s prime minister Prayut Chan-o-Cha awarned against panic as authorities attempt to fish out the masterminds of the attack.
“The bombs are an attempt to create chaos and confusion,” he said in a conversation with reporters. “We should not make people panic more.”
“Why the bombs occurred as our country is heading towards stability, a better economy and tourism – and who did it – you have to find out for me.”
