Illalah while speaking to newsmen urged residents to remain calm, saying that drastic measures were already on process by the Federal government to provide assistance to the affected houses.

We have gone round and saw the houses that were affected; we are waiting for the Nigerian geologists to tell us the root of the problem and what will be the next plan of action for the occupants of these communities,” Illalah said.

He maintained that NEMA as an agency was responsible for managing emergency and disaster, adding, “we’ll do our best; we are now going back to Kaduna to write our report and send it to our principal at Abuja.

“We all know that this rock is the root of the problem but only the geological services will be able to tell us the cause of the tremor.”‎

Meanwhile, some residents said they were living in total fear not knowing what was coming up next.

In their part, the Assistant director of the Nigeria geological Science, Abuja, Mr Orobasala Ojo, said, “we have carried out the assessment but we will go back and carry out the necessary test before the final report.”
