European Clubs Pay Tribute to Brazilian Team Involved in Plane Crash

Top European football clubs have continued to pay tribute and prayers for the Brazilian football team Chapecoense who were involved in a plane crash in Cerro Gordo, Colombia earlier today.

The plane, which was carrying 81 people including 22 players from the team, lost contact with ground controllers around midnight and reportedly attempted a forced landing.

Chapecoense was due to play in the final of the Copa Sudamericana, against Medellin team Atletico Nacional.

Six people survived the crash, including goalkeeper Alan Ruschel, who is in the hospital, according to Medellin airport authorities.
