Gov. Bello Is Not Dead – Media Aide

yahaya-belloThe Kogi State Government has denied rumours of ill-health of Governor Yahaya Bello, saying he is hale and hearty.

The prolonged absence of the governor from the public glare sparked concerns among people of the state with many speculating that he had traveled to Germany for treatment of an undisclosed ailment.

It was learnt that the last time Gov. Bello was seen in public was over two weeks ago during the maiden convocation ceremony of the Federal University, Lokoja and inspection of Lokoja Water Works on October 22.

But the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo refuted claims that something is wrong with Mr. Bello as been widely speculated.

Fanwo in a statement issued in Lokoja on Monday, said: “I want to state clearly here for the avoidance of doubt that the rumour lacks any iota of truth. It is a reflection of the depth the enemies of Kogi State have gone in their desperate angst against fate.

“To put the record straight, the Governor is hale and hearty, healthy and unwavering in his vigour to make Kogi State the Confluence of Excellence”.

The statement called on the people of the state to discountenance the rumours, adding that Governor Bello will return on November 12 from a two weeks’ break, which it said, was earlier approved by the State House of Assembly.

“Let me also thank the good people of Kogi State for their love and sense of solidarity”, Fanwo added.
