Moji Olaiya, Others Unveiled As Global Peace Ambassadors

Nollywood actress, Moji Olaiya has been appointed as a Global Ambassador for Peace by the founder of US-based Arts4Peace Awards.

The popular actress was decorated and official unveiled at the inauguration of the Global Peace Festival at a colourful ceremony held at the D.S Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori Ogun state on Saturday December 10, 2016.

Founder of the Arts4Peace Awards, Her Majesty, Queen Munni Ironne of Beverly Hills, Carlifonia and her partner, Pepper Jay (an American Music producer, public speaker, Author and Coach) flew into Nigeria and were joined to the event by the Global Peace Leader in Nigeria, HSM, Emperor Alafia Adeola Shalom and other dignitaries.

Part of the activities held at the offficial unveiling of the Global Festival was the official planting of the Global peace Tree on the campus of ICT Polytechnic.

The event concided with the 2016 convocation ceremony of the institution and it was well attended.

Apart from Moji Olaiya, the royal father of Itori, HRM Oba Fatai Akorede Akamo (Olu of Itori, Egbaland), Alhaji Abdulmalik Ejarune, the Founder and CEO of Al-Malik Air Services Limited and the Rector of D.S Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Dr. Olufemi Alfred Fatade. They were all decorated and presented with their official certification by Queen Munni Irone.

While speaking at the event, HSM, Emperor Alafia Adeola Shalom declared 10th of November every year as World Peace Day by the Arts4Peace movement. This declaration will not just be observed in Nigeria, but globally.

In her speech, the founder of Arts4Peace Awards, Queen Muni Irone who revealed felt so much at home in Nigeria and with Nigerians, said the basic aim of the movement is to seek and encourage peace globally through the means of arts. “Religion, politics and so much more have divided us so badly, the world needs peace right now and we must find means of bridging the gaps that have existed among us. We are promoting peace across the world through series of activities and I am very glad that we have come to Nigeria.

The Nigerian Ambassador for Peace of the Arts4peace Awards, Mr. Philips Theophilus Olanrewaju corroborated what the Queen said and expressed satisfaction at the rate the movement is going in Nigeria.

Alhaji Ejanure, who was officially unveiled as the Diplomatic Peace Ambassador also expressed his happiness for being a part of the movement. He believes that the impact of the activities of Arts4peace Awards in Nigeria will no doubt bring positive developments through peace. Ejanure’s company, Al-Malik Air Services bankrolled Saturday’s event and was in charge of the movement of the team from US down to Nigeria.

Moji Olaiya, who also could not hide her joy said she saw her appointment among the multitude in the entertainment industry in Nigeria as a big privilege. She expressed her joy at being tasked with the responsiblity of promoting peace not only in her native country, but also globally. “I can’t hide my joy over this new responsibility, and I am more than willing to give my best to help the team achieve the target goals”, she said.

This event is coming just a few weeks after the Arts4Peace grand event held in California, USA in August.
