A truck has pulled down part of the pedestrian bridge built across the Ibadan-Ife Express Way at Ikire junction, Osun State.

A major tragedy was averted late on Tuesday after a truck carrying a bulldozer, accidentally pulled down part of the pedestrian bridge built across the Ibadan-Ife Express Way at Ikire town in Osun state.
It was gathered that the truck which was traveling towards Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, hit the bridge, and the upper deck came crashing down, causing traffic hold up.
While speaking to a correspondent, a resident of the town identified as Temitope Jamiu, said on the telephone that the incident happened in the evening around 7pm.
Jamiu said, “A trailer hit the pedestrian bridge and brought part of it down. The trailer is still there up till now and I don’t think the driver would be allowed to move it away from there. I was told that officials of the Federal Ministry of Works have been informed and they will come and inspect the damage tomorrow.”
