A young and promising bride-to-be has lost her life after a tragic road accident due to the ongoing industrial action embarked upon by Nigerian doctors.
A bride-to-be has reportedly died in Osun state after she was denied medical treatment at a Teaching Hospital in Ile-Ife.
The woman identified as Mercy Ndidiamaka Onwuka was involved in a fatal crash while travelling from Abuja to Lagos and was rushed to the hospital but was denied access due to the industrial action embarked by doctors in the country.
Four other passengers died also died in the accident when the Young Shall Grow bus somersaulted multiple times on the expressway. The Elder brother to the deceased speaking with LIB, said she was taken to the Teaching Hospital in Ile-Ife but doctors being on strike she did not receive adequate care thus leading to her death.
Mercy reportedly died from internal bleeding on Thursday, September 7, at about 3:00 a.m. She was buried on Sunday, September 10th in Amainyi-Ukwu LGA, Ihitte Uboma, Imo state.
