The Black Soap Miracle

Many are of the opinion that good things require great money and expenses. Especially the issue of skin care. Despite that school of thought, there is an over looked skin product that is as cheap as N300.  The beauty industry has been shaken by the rather late arrival of the infamous natural African black soap. Beauty gurus have only just realized the truly restorative powers of this product and many have incorporated it into their daily skin care routines.

Quite a few of us remember the black soaps like Dudu Osun  and did not really understand the positive effect it had on our skin. In the years past, the women from the Western part of Africa made and used a vegetable-based soap to cleanse their skin and hair. Such soaps were made with secret recipes passed down from generation to generation. And several formulations of the African black soap gracing the market today have been revised with added contents like; oats, honey, aloe end the like. But there are core, irremovable ingredients which include; plantain skins, cocoa pods, Shea tree bark and palm tree leaves. Once the plant matter is collected, it is first sun dried and then roasted at a consistent temperature until it turns into ash. The ash is then added to water and various fats like palm oil, coconut oil, Shea butter, cocoa butter, and palm kernel oil. This mixture is then heated and hand-stirred for a least 24 hours until it begins to solidify before it’s scooped out and left to cure for two weeks. Note, because black soap contains high levels of glycerin, if you have a glycerin allergy, it is advisable to not use it. Once used and you notice that black soap is irritating your skin, discontinue use immediately. Now, here are all the amazing ways that black soap can help your skin;
