Man rapes seven year-old girl

A man identified as Matthew Maffei, aka “Uncle Matt,” has been convicted of sexual assault, the culprit assaulted the seven-year old daughter of his friends.

Maffei committed the horrific crime right in the victim’s own home, as her parents slept in the next bedroom.

He also forced the victim’s five-year old brother to witness his abuse of the seven-year old girl on one occasion, and threatened to kill both children if they told their parents what he had done.

As part of the sexual assaults on this child, Maffei also defecated on her face.

He also manufactured sexually explicit images of the victim, which he distributed.

Maffei was sentenced Tuesday January 16, 2018 to 90 years in federal prison for his manufacture of sexually explicit images of the seven-year old daughter of his childhood friend, and the transportation, receipt, and possession of child pornography.

Maffei, of Aston, Delaware County, Pennsylvania and a first time offender, previously pleaded guilty to all charges in the federal indictment.

The government sought the statutory maximum sentence of 90 years based on the defendant’s horrific sexual abuse of the young victim.

Calling the sexual assaults “unspeakable,” the District Court imposed a prison sentence of 90 years, asking the parents to assure the victim and her brother that “this defendant will never in this lifetime be released from custody.”

The case was investigated by the FBI in conjunction with the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office and the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, as well as the Middleton Township, DE Police Department.

It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michelle Rotella.

According to a document released by the US Department of Justice, the Honorable Mitchell S. Goldberg, United States District Judge in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, also imposed lifetime supervised release, a $20,000 assessment pursuant to the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act, $5,000 in restitution, and a $400 special assessment.
