Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage turned 38th on February 5th, with fans and colleagues wishing her a happy birthday on social media. Even Wizkid who hardly does birthday shoutout on social media couldn’t stay away. Doesn’t that make her really special? Well, below are six interesting things every Tiwa Savage fan should know

1.The singer who has made a name for herself in the Nigerian music scene didn’t originally start her music career here. Tiwa Savage at the young age of 16 when had done back-up vocals for a number of artistes including Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige, Andrea Bucelli, George Michel, Blu Chantell and Chaka Chan.

2.Mummy Jam Jam as we like to her also performed background vocals for Whitney Houston’s 2009 album, I Look to You, amazing the right? well that;s not all.

3.Though it might have started out as a talent and a hobby, Tiwa Savage actually went to school to study Music at the Berklee College of Music where she graduated in 2007.

4.The singer who came to Nigeria with manager, Tunji ‘Tee Billz’ Balogun, whom she later married and has a son with, joined Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records in 2012 and her debut studio album, Once Upon a Time, was released on 3 July 2013. It was supported by the singles “Kele Kele Love”, “Love Me (3x)”, “Without My Heart”, “Ife Wa Gbona”, “Folarin”, “Olorun Mi” and “Eminado

5.She signed an international management and distribution deal with Roc Nation in July 2016, becoming the first Nigerian artiste to be signed to the label.
