Tinubu’s Letter: President Buhari Meets APC Chairman, Oyegun In Aso Rock

The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Odigie-Oyegun, on Friday afternoon, met with President Muhammadu Buhari, over the crisis rocking the party.

According to TheCable, Odigie-Oyegun who arrived the presidential villa at 3pm and left 50 minutes later after meeting with Buhari, did not speak to the media, walking briskly away as soon as he saw journalists approaching him.
Recall that TORI News had reported on on Thursday that on a letter, dated February 21, 2018, and copied to the president, vice-president, senate president and speaker of the house of representatives, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accused the national chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun, of sabotage.

Tinubu, in the scathing letter, accused Oyegun of contravening the spirit of the discussions both of them had at the party secretariat when President Muhammadu Buhari gave him the assignment of reconciling aggrieved members.

The influential Yoruba politician said: “disappointment greeted me when I discovered that you had swiftly acted in contravention of the spirit of our discussions. Instead of being a bulwark of support as promised, you positioned yourself in active opposition to the goal of resuscitating the progressive and democratic nature of APC”.
