President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday during a meeting with some stakeholders at the Government House in Makurdi, the Benue State capital said he is not aware that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, left Benue State for Nasarawa State after he was ordered to relocate to the state.
President Buhari had on January 9, ordered the Inspector General of Police to immediately move to Benue State to restore law and order and prevent further loss of lives and properties, due to attacks by herdsmen in Benue.
Nigerians are however very unpleased with the statement saying Buhari has no grip of his government, a clear sign of incompetence. Many are of the opinion that the IG be fired at once. Here are some reactions from Nigerians below;
All this plausible deniability is just classic.
How can a president of a country claim not to be well informed of the whereabouts of his employees.Wehdon Sah.

The fact that Pres. Buhari has no control over his own I-G of Police speaks volumes.Two months after he directed him to move to Benue to ensure that the killings stopped he tells us that he just found out that the I-G was not even there for up to 24 hours! What a shameful mess!

Saying this mr President means u are not in charge of ur government. GEJ was voted out for the same reason sir.

U sent IGP after Fulani herdsmen while u sent buratai after IPOB and Zarzaky. Is this not hypocritical?
Now u telling the world u never knew ur orders were floated. This clearly shows u are not fit to be president.

Is it not better that the country is privatized, maybe that would be the solution out of this present mess 😂😂😂

Okay, I, like a few Nigerians, may be willing to give the president the benefit of doubt. However, if I wake up tomorrow ‘nd the IG is still the IG, then I will simply assume that the president is trying to fool Nigerians again.

Just shows u have no clue of what’s going on Mr President. In a civilised society d IGP would resign with immediate effect, but I am a dreamer.

Wait! Nigerians we are now sure something happened to our president during his stay at London. #BringBack ourPresident

The President laments disloyalty of his IGP? Could this be insubordination? The question is, who retains the office of IGP now? Mr. President is either you’re incompetent or nepotic! @MBuhari
