‘Osun doesn’t have my kind of money’ – Nigerians throw jabs at Tinubu over statement

A former Lagos state governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Bola Tinubu has drawn criticisms to himself, after a recent statement.

There have been speculations that Tinubu was trying to impose Oyetola, the All Progressives Congress’ candidate for the September gubernatorial election on Osun State so as to loot money.

However, speaking during is visit to the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, Tinubu, while debunking the notion said, there was no need for such as the state isn’t as rich as his candidate or himself.

He said;

“Oyetola is a reliable person. He may be quiet, but the sense he has… he is an encyclopedia of finance.

He will not take a bribe; he will not steal your money. If he is looking for money, he would have stayed back in Lagos. Osun doesn’t have Oyetola’s kind of money.

I’m not abusing the state. I asked those saying that I’m trying to plant Oyetola in Osun, that how much does Osun have? Osun doesn’t have my kind of money.”

Tinubu has come under serious backlash for the statement, as Nigerians have queried why a member of a party that says its fighting corruption would make such a statement.
