Chelsea almost made it a 100 percent campaign in the Europa league after their stalemate with Vidi FC yesterday.
Although the English premiership side had secured qualification into the round of 32 going into the encounter yesterday but that didn’t stop them from fielding a relatively strong team.
They were thought to be heading for a victory when Brazilian International, Willian, gave them the lead from a free kick he had won himself but their host replied with two goals and it took a moment of wizardry from Oliver Giroud to restore parity from another free kick.
Their head coach, Maurizio Sarri, then revealed how happy he is with their display when quizzed by journalists at the end of the match.
What he said:
Sarri says he was very pleased with the performances of Ethan Ampadu and Callum Hudson-Odoi tonight, pointing out the number of changes we made to the team as a whole made it harder for them. And that's all from the boss for now – there will be more online later. #VIDIvCFC
