Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa, has been awarded the Sportsperson of the Year 2018 at the Future Awards Nigeria Ceremony held at the Balmoral Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Sunday. The 26-year-old forward scored three goals for Nigeria at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Hosted by Big brother 2018 second-runner-up and Media personality, Bolanle Olukanni, the Future Awards are a set of awards given by the Future Project (TFP), a social enterprise communications firm affiliated to Red Africa. Forbes described the awards as Nigeria’s most important awards for outstanding young Nigerians.
The first awards ceremony was held on February 6, 2006, at the Muson Centre in Lagos. Meanwhile, Alternative music act, Simi, Zainab Balogun, and Internet sensation, Mark Angel also won awards at the event.
