Lionel Messi was involved in all five goals as Barcelona thrashed Levante 5-0 at the Estadi Ciutat de Valencia in La Liga on Sunday. The Argentine scored a hat-trick as Barca recorded their 10th victory in the league this season.
Uruguayan striker, Luis Suarez, put the visitors ahead with a well-struck effort past Levante goalkeeper, Oier Olazabal before a Right-footed finish from Messi steered Barca to a 2-0 lead at half time.
Messi secured his hat-trick with a close range effort in the 60th minute before Gerard Pique sealed the win for Barca late in the second half. Meanwhile, the hat-trick sees the Argentine become the first player in Europe’s top 5 leagues to reach 50 goals in 2018. The Catalans remain top of the La Liga table, accumulating 34 points sixteen league games this season.
