Nigeria, 3rd most terrorised Nation in the world: Well, deaths have reduced from where previous govts left us – Keyamo

Spokesperson of the President Muhammadu Buhari reelection campaign organization, Festus Keyamo(SAN) has reacted to a publication, by the Global Terrorism Index, which put Nigeria as the third most terrorised nation in world.

In the Wednesday report, Nigeria came immediately after countries like Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Pakistan.

In his reaction, Keyamo said though the country’s position isn’t one to be proud of, he however said, there’s a steady decline in the number of deaths related to terrorism – compared to what the case was, during the last administration.

In his words:

Whilst our position in the Global Terrorism Index is NOT good enough, but there’s actually a steady decline in d number of such deaths from where the previous govts left us. So, it’s a fallacy that we’re worse off in that regard

In the report the Global Terrorism Index, it was also showed a drop in the number of deaths related to terrorism.

“Total deaths from terrorism in Nigeria fell to 1,532 in 2017, a drop of 16% from the previous year.”
