Here Is The Heavy Shot That Chief Wole Olanipekun(SAN) Fired At CCT Chairman Before He Adjourned The Hearing Of The Case Against The Chief Justice Of Nigeria,Justice Walter Onnoghen.

The Code of Conduct Tribunal led by Danladi Umar today adjourned proceedings involving the alleged non-declaration of asset charges against the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, till January 22.

The adjournment was made after Chief Wole Olanipekun who led a team of lawyers to defend the Chief Judge challenged the jurisdiction of the CCT to hear such case. The Legal enigma told the court that they were at the tribunal not for the arraignment of the case but on protest. He went further to say that his client wasn’t properly served with the charges and summons.

The tribunal  then adjourned the case after the lead prosecuting counsel, Mr. Aliyu Umar (SAN), agreed with him that Onnoghen was not properly served with the charges and the summons.

What he said;

“My lord we are not just challenging jurisdiction, we are even challenging the jurisdiction of this tribunal to even sniff that charge”,
