Manchester United destroy Newcastle in tough Premier League clash at St James Park

Two second half goals from Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford was all Manchester United needed to beat Newcastle United 2-0 at St James’ Park on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

The Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tutored-side, who went into the encounter with a decent scorecard after claiming nine points from their last three fixtures also netted 12 times in the process.

Newcastle’s Jamaal Lascelles was the first payer to be booked during the encounter as United went in search for the lead.

It was a difficult first stanza as both sides held on and did not want to give away anything. After the half time break the Red Devils came more into the contest Lukaku opened scores for United in the 69th minute.

And on the 90th minute Rasford increased United advantage. At the blast of the final whistle the score board read Newcastle 0- 2 Manchester United in favour of the Old Trafford dwellers.
