‘You promote peace while speaking English but whip up war, when you speak your local language’ – Shehu Sani

Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has criticised leaders who advocate for peace in English language but whip up a storm, while they speak in their local languages.

The outspoken senator made no mention of names nor did he point accusing fingers at any Nigerian leader, he, however, stressed that an act like that, makes “unity become myth and peace, a mirage.”

Mr Shehu wrote:

When leaders promote and advocate for peace and unity when speaking in English; And whip up ethnic, sectional and religious sentiments when speaking in their local languages, unity becomes a myth and peace a mirage in our country.
