CHOLERA EPIDEMIC BREAKS OUT IN ADAMAWA STATE: 16 CONFIRMED DEAD


Cholera has broken out in Adamawa state in North east Nigeria.
The epidemic which has just been confirmed as cholera has broken out in various local governments in Adamawa.
So far 16 people have been confirmed dead and a large number hospitalized due to the cholera epidemic.

The outbreak of the cholera epidemic has been confirmed by the Permanent Secretary in the Adamawa State Ministry of Health, Dr. Emmanuel Binjo
The Permanent Secretary named the villages ravaged by the disease in Maiha to include Pakka, Bokoi, Maiha-Gani, Hubu-Tudi and Mayo-Nguli.

He announced that a team of medical Personnel headed by the Director of disease control has been dispatched to Maiha to contain the ravaging epidemic.

According to him, reports by the Medical Team from the area confirmed that the disease is being contained.
The primary secretary also stated that the Ministry is well stocked with vaccines to contain any disease outbreak in state and advised people to always keep their environment tidy.
