BBC World Service Trust Nigeria Recruiting: Producer/ Trainer

The BBC World Service Trust in Nigeria is recruiting for a Producer/Trainer.
Position: PRODUCER/TRAINER
The post Is Abuja based but will involve travels to the focal states.
Duties
• The successful candidate will be delivering various training activities at partner radio stations across Nigeria, and working with relevant partner organisations such as radio/TV stations, civil society organisations, and other USAID partners.
• Will train and support partner station staff and other trainees in a wide range of programme production skills and take responsibility for designing training materials and methods of evaluation.
• Will also offer on-going mentoring support to trainees.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
• Strong editorial judgment and substantial radio production experience, including production of audience participation formats.
• Proven ability to analyse and critically evaluate editorial content, identifying strengths and weaknesses in programme content and driving constant improvement in output.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in planning training courses and training of journalists, and willingness to develop skills in these areas. Thorough understanding of best practice in media training. Strong understanding of the role of communications in development.
• Strong understanding of and commitment to issues of governance, transparency and accountability programming.
Qualification
• A minimum of first degree in Humanities, Social or Management Sciences or in any related field.
