IBB Strikes Back, David Mark Calls For Time Out

Sequel to Obsanjo’s sharp remarks in response to Ibb initial comment that was a source of aggravation, IBB decided to strike back. It will be recalled that during an interview on his 70th birthday, IBB passed comments on Obasanjo’s government saying” “I managed poverty to achieve results but some people managed affluence to achieve failure” He continued, saying “There is a book comparing my eight years in office and the eight years of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, anyone can compare and contrast, the difference is clear”. He described the $16billion dollars which was supposedly invested in power during Obsanjo’s tenure as a collosal waste as those who handled the fund achieved nothing.

Obsanjo in turn replied ““I also read where he said in his time, he gave the dividends of democracy and at the same time he regretted. When I read that, well I said Babangida should be pitied and shown sympathy rather than anger or condemnation because the old saying says a fool at 40 is a fool forever and I would say a regret at 70 is a regret too late. Well a regret at 70 is a regret to the grave. “Then as elected president, I built Papalanto, Omotosho, others and I started five what they called Independent Power Stations which were stopped for two and a half years.

In reaction to Obasanjo’s statement, IBB said in a statement by his spokesperson, Prince Kassim Afegbua said “We do not want to believe that he (Obasanjo) truly said that, but if it is true that he did say that, Nigerians know who the greatest (sic) fool is,” He continued by saying

“When he was released from prison and granted state pardon, bathed in cerebral ornaments and clothed in royal beads and later crowned as President of Nigeria, IBB was not a fool then.

“Now that he is at the extreme of his thoughts and engagements, he can decide to dress IBB in borrowed robes. But the histories of both of them, when put to public scrutiny comparatively, IBB is far glowing and instructively stands poles apart from Obasanjo.

“On the issue of performance, Obasanjo cannot contemplate a comparison of his largely acquisitive regime that plundered our hard-earned state resources, with that of the IBB government with a verifiable record of achievements.

“Despite the fact that he carried out a clinical investigation of IBB’s regime, what did he establish against him? Nothing! We wish to refer Obasanjo to the National Assembly to give his own side of the story to the several revelations that have become the themes of his orchestra when he held sway as President of Nigeria. Perhaps, he would be able to tell the world how he managed Nigeria’s resources during his regime.”

Meanwhile Senator David Mark has called for a cease fire between the two former Presidents, who he says stand the risk of rubbishing their images and their contributions to the nation’s development in their ongoing media battle. However some other leaders seem to be enjoying the comic relief the former Presidents are providing while some have described it as shameful, others say it is timely, while some say the both leaders made no meaningful contributions to the nation and their current squabble is nothing but a distraction.

There are indications that the Former Presidents may be summoned by the SSS to find out the cause of their current dispute. It is said that The President is not pleased about the on-going war of words between his predecessors and is likely to intervene.

Obj, we look forward to your strike back. Please don’t disappoint.

GEJ, please investigate the Governments of these two, that way you can serve as the umpire.

  1. It is not a shameful occurrence between our two elephants rather it is a checkup of their handiwork, both are getting near to God and way to reunite to God is what they are looking for but they don’t know how and where to start, its God workout in them. the present administration is the one mentally challenging them where they went wrong and where they went right, they should reunite and forget about their dramatic mentalism and let Nigeria focus on her goals.
    Thanks.

  2. ibb vs obj ! two supposedly great leaders of our time. each with his minuses and pluses. each with questions to be answered, issues to sort and corrections to make. but most importantly, at their respected ages plus their colossal image (with their immense wealth and ww connection), WE YOUTHS, including GEJ, look onto them as VOICES to be heard and respected, WE NEED INSPIRATION FROM THEM. we want to see them use all at their disposal to make NIGERIA work again. to make our blessed country reign in the comity of nations. anything less is a disservice to our great country,
