First Lady Tells Nigerian Men To Stop Patronizing Prostitutes

Nigeria’s first lady Mrs Patience Jonathan has called on Nigerian men to stop seeking the services of prostitutes.

The First Lady of the Federation, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, Speaking at the graduation ceremony for repentant commercial sex workers who were trained for six months at the Federal Capital Territory Women Rehabilitation Centre, Sabon-Lugbe, Abuja, used this opportunity to send a message to Nigerian men.

The First Lady who was represented at the event by her Senior Special Assistant on Social Development, Mrs. Sarah Akube, told Nigerian men to “stop touching the innocent girls” even as she expressed hope that the 34 trained ex-commercial sex workers would not return to their vomit.
The ex commercial workers were trained in hairdressing, computer appreciation; fashion design and bead making as part of rehabilitation and re-integration measure back to the society by the Federal Capital Territory administration in collaboration with a non-governmental organisation, the Society Against Prostitution and Child Labour in Nigeria (SAP-CLN).

  1. The best preaching about this awful venture is to create jobs here and there in this country. Women goes into prostitution and men into robbery and other crimes and nefarious activities because there’s no jobs in the country. Even the men in power are the highest patronizers of prostitution in this country, cuz no prostitute is ready to follow a man dat wil not pay her.

  2. Tell papa to creat industries so dat we can start productns like marble tiles, handsets, plastics, ceramics articles, leathers, fibres, chemicals, etc. If nigerians are producing what we use on daily basis, peace, unity and progress will come once.

  3. Wat an obvious and idyllic interllectual presentation. But come to think of it Inadequate Employment Opportunities is the cause of all these idiosyncracies. Last week, robbers robbed First Bank and almost got away, but 4 outta of 6 were gun down, when I peeped to look, they were young handsome young chaps!! First Lady, that was indeed a good observation, but must tell you and Mr. President to pls CREATE JOB OPPORTUNITIES all over the 36 states.

  4. 34 ex commercial workers out of millions is NOTHING. To me, training prostitudes is not appludable because in every non-islamic countries, prostitution is a serious issue only when it advance to human trafficing. My first lady, there are many serious issue here in Nigeria which you and i know. Infact, help us convince GEJ to legalize prostitution like other countries, even though i will never patronize them. Wish you and presido all the best. Good Luck.

  5. was she[patience] not a prostitute before fate made her first lady …?then why should she be so harsh on what the new generation are doing…following her footsteps.

  6. Tha tickles! 34 ex prostitutes rehabilitated and given training in hair dressing, bread making etc that is NOT aplaudable @ all. Am so disapointed! Who told you they have become EX prostitutes, what criteria was used 2 select the 34…? “9jerian Politics” hahahaahah. Cnt fool me.

  8. Sweet Mummy, if other first ladies before you (your predecessors) made this kind of advice before their tenure elapsed, am pretty sure that prostitution would have been significantly reduced or even gone into extinction. your advice is motherly and I pray that God will uphold you in given the nigerians (your children) more of these God-inspired advice. God bless you and strenghthen daddy, president Goodluck Jonathan, GCFR, in discharging his leadership function in Jesus name. AMEN!
