Job Title: Packaging Engineer
To co-ordinate, coach and control the activities of the level one maintenance teams in the production environment and to provide specialist technical advice to ensure maximum equipment availability.
Duties and Responsibilities
Amongst other duties, the Packaging Engineer will:
Maintain a healthy, safe and risk free working environment
Manage human resources
Optimize plant and equipment availability and reliability
Manage/optimize computerized maintenance management system
Manage SYSPRO system integrity and optimal usage.
Optimize process performance
Manage small/Minor CAPIN /CAPEX projects
Optimize maintenance reliability, availability and costs
Qualifications and Skills Required
The occupant of this position should possess
Minimum of B.Sc degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering) and/or additional business qualifications.
Minimum of Five (5) years experience in packaging engineering or related field experience at a senior leadership position, preferably in a brewery or FMCG (fast
moving consumer goods) environment.
Membership of relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage
Key Competencies and Attributes
Knowledge of WCM/MEP strategies and initiatives
Good knowledge of packaging production processes and technologies
Familiarity with reliability centered maintenance systems.
Proven leadership skills
Analytical problem solver. Influencing ability with regards to sound maintenance practices
