The security situation in Kano State has forced the NPL to postpone the week five premier league fixture between Kano Pillars and Enyimba indefinitely.
Idris Malikiwa, the Kano Pillars spokesperson, explained that it would be unwise to go on with the game despite the growing concern of insecurity in the state.
“Having studied the situation in Kano, we wrote the NPL that they should please postpone this match, thank God they were also sensitive to the situation on ground and heeded our plea,” Malikiwa said.
“It’s unfortunate that the game had to be called off. The situation on ground in Kano is responsible for this postponement because the lives of players, officials and fans are important and we and the league body had to take that into consideration here.”
He however expressed optimism that the situation would improve soon.
The NPL board will disclose a new date for the match which was scheduled to take place at the Sani Abacha stadium in Kano.
Security is all what Nigeria’s are worry, when will things come to an end?only God can tell.
