A sudden storm raged through Lagos Island Monday morning killing at least one person and leaving several others injured.

The storm brought torrential rains and very strong winds through Lagos Islands.

Eye witnesses say they saw the corpse of one man on around Gordon Barracks, apparently killed when a fixed antennae tore away from its cement base and struck him in the head. The victim was corporately dressed, adding, he may be on his way to one of the many offices on Lagos Island.

The storm tore down walls and trees and littered roads with debris and palm fronds.

On Third Mainland Bridge, electric poles, bill boards and street lights fell on the road thereby compounding the traffic situation on the bridge.
