GOVERNOR Sullivan Chime of Enugu State has expressed regret over the death of the Acting News Editor of The Guardian, Mr. Benjamin Ukwuoma, describing it as a great loss to the media industry and the country at large.
Chime, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Chukwudi Achife, said Ukwuoma’s death was particularly saddening, as it came barely three months after the demise of the Publisher of The Guardian, Mr. Alex Ibru.
He described Ukwuoma as an exemplary journalist who devoted his professional life to the promotion of issues and values that enhanced sustainable development and rapid advancement of the country.
The governor conveyed his sincere condolences to both the management
of the newspaper and the family of the deceased, praying God to give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
Also, the CEO of Marketingmix, Akin Adeoya, in his condolence message, described Ukwuoma as a perfect gentleman who would be greatly missed.
