Abubakar Visits Haruna’s Home

IG3Says DIG Was Dedicated To Service

The Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, yesterday paid a condolence visit to family of the late Deputy Inspector General of Police, John Haruna in Lagos. He extolled Haruna’s virtues, urging his wife to take solace in God.

The IGP who visited in company of his DIG in charge of Training, Marvel Akpoyibo and other top men of the police command, said Haruna’s death is a great loss to the Nigeria Police and the nation.

“I am here on behalf of the presidency to condole with you on this very sad moment in the history of the Nigeria Police. This is the very first accident recorded in the history of the air wing of the police. It is a very sad moment for me because it came at a time when I am pushing for better efficiency in the force.”             

The IGP, also visited the family of one of the junior officers who died in the helicopter crash, Pwol-Jah. He promised to ensure that children of the deceased would be given the best they need to succeed in life by the government.

Elder brother of the deceased, Mr. Pwol Jah, while thanking the IGP said the visit has gone a long way in consoling them.
