Job Title: Financial Accountant

Job Purpose:
To manage and analyse financial control systems and processes with professional expertise so as to deliver prompt and quality results

Key Result Areas Main Activities and Responsibilities:
Managing Cash flow
1.Taking action as required to reduce outstanding debt
2.Overseeing cash collection to improve effectiveness
3.Ensuring payments are made to terms
4.Reporting projected cash flows on a daily/weekly basis

Accounting, Financial Reporting and Compliance
1.Reports include; daily key data, monthly statutory/management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow), forecasts, debtor control and cash forecasts, all to be delivered in a timely manner
2.Maintain all accounting records, inputting transactions promptly and accurately.
3.Reconcile all accounts on a regular basis, including bank account reconciliations.
4.Ensure adequate systems, processes and controls are in place to ensure the reliability of the financials.
5.Ensuring all year-end returns are completed accurately and filed on time.

Managing Sales Ledger

1.Overseeing the prompt preparation and issue of sales invoices.
2.Maintaining the sales ledger, monitoring distributors against agreed sale targets.
3.Monitoring sales against targets for Lebara sales teams, ensuring correct payment of commission.
4.Ensuring the regular reconciliation of statements with customers, maintaining good working relationships and taking action quickly to resolve differences.
5.Drive process improvement and champion new systems/processes through the organization

Managing Banking and Payments

1.Managing the bank accounts, reporting balances and reconciling daily.
2.Preparing supplier payments in compliance with agreed credit terms.
3.Ensuring the regular reconciliation of statements with suppliers, maintaining good working relationships and taking action quickly to resolve differences.
4.Managing the processing of Purchase Orders to ensure appropriate level of authority is used for sign-off and that company process has been rigidly followed.
5.Assist in continually reviewing costs, seeking opportunities to obtain best value and minimize costs where possible.

Team Management and Communication

1.Develop adequate structure to ensure success and provide coaching and succession planning for the team.
2.Responsible for the personal development of everyone in the team, setting appropriate objectives and work with them to deliver success
3.Develop relationships with key stakeholders to make sure that Finance team is best represented and that Finance’ requirements and restrictions are understood and managed.

 

Paper Qualification:
1.Minimum B.Sc (Minimum second Class lower) in Accounting from a reputable university. 2.ACCA (level 3)with extensive post qualification experience in a commercial environment. 3.Proven financial accountant experience within a fast paced enviroment

Experience: 
5 – 7 years in financial control systems and process

8.IT skills – Microsoft suite with emphasis on Excel (Intermediate/Advance)
9.Good knowledge of Excel
10.Experience in SAP would be beneficial
11.Strong analytical skills, high level of accuracy, methodical with attention to detail
12.Good written and verbal communication skill
13.Strong Leadership and influencing skills
14.Able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
15.Flexible approach to role and requirements
