The Oyo State Coordinator for the NYSC scheme, Mrs. Sekinat Idowu has announced that the 2012 Batch ‘A’ corps members will receive martial arts training while at the orientation camp.
Mrs. Idowu made this announcement at the NYSC orientation camp in Iseyin, Oyo State, on Thursday, saying that the training was for self-defence.

The 3,010 corps members, consisting of 1,512 males and 1,498 females, were sworn in by the Oyo state Chief Judge, Mrs Badejoko Adeniji.
Idowu said the new training schedule was part of the Federal Government’s policies toward ensuring that the scheme became an enduring instrument in the transformation agenda of government.
She added that corps members would no longer be posted to banks and other private organisations unless their services fell under the purview of certain critical sectors of the economy.
Agriculture, education, health and rural infrastructure were the sector Mrs. Idowu listed where corpers will be posted,
