Abia donates 25 patrol vans to Army

GOVERNOR Theodore Orji of Abia State on Wednesday presented 25 patrol vans to the Nigerian Army and tasked the soldiers to use the vehicles to beef up security in the state by chasing all criminals out of Abia.

Orji particularly charged the Army to stop illegal bunkering and acts of vandalism against oil pipelines in the state, which he stated, had put Abia’s economy in danger.

The governor, who handed over the vans to Commander, 14 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Ohafia, Brig.-Gen. Jubrin Tanko Abubakar, assured that the state would soon extend the gesture to other security agencies.

An elated Abubakar thanked the governor for boosting the Army’s logistics and pledged that the vans would be used to curb crimes in the state.
