THE new Police Commissioner for Ebonyi State, Mamman Sule, has said he would involve traditional rulers and the Police Community Relations Committee in a synergy to fight crime and insecurity.
He also stressed that communal strife remained the major challenge to peace in the state.
Sule, who made the disclosure during an interactive session with reporters while taking over officially, warned warring communities against acts and utterances capable of inflaming passion and threatening peace in the state.
While insisting that dialogue remained the most effective tool in conflict resolution, the Police Commissioner, who had served in Taraba, Yobe and Kwara states, noted that no meaningful development could take place anywhere without peace and security.
Sule took over from Mr. Adeola Adeniji, who has been posted to the International Police Department, (Interpol) Force Headquarters, Annex, Lagos.
