Funke Akindele Wins Best Actress In First Yoruba Movie Academy Awards

The First ever Yoruba Movie Awards held on Sunday June 3 at the June 12 Cultural Centre Kuto Abeokuta in Ogun state.
The event was attended by A-list Yoruba thespians from Nollywood , at the event Funke Akindele clinched the ‘Best Actress in a Leading Role Award’ while prolific actor cum producer Odunlade Adekola won the ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role Award’.
Winners also emerged from other categories as Saheed Osupa bagged the Best Musician in a Leading Role Award, Gabriel Afolayan won ‘ The Most promising actor’ and Abbey lanre carted away with the Best Director award, amongst other awards.
