Govt okays six airlines for Hajj

THE Federal Government has approved six airlines to airlift intending pilgrims to this year’s pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Uba Mana.

The statement listed the airlines as Med-view, Max Air, Kabo Air, Ethiopian Airlines, Meridian Airlines and Tradecraft Nigeria Ltd.

It also said that Hamsel Air Services Limited and Aero Aviation Services Limited would serve as back-up carriers for the operations.

Mana added that the Federal Government has also approved Med-view Cargo Limited, Evergreen and White Aero Ventures as pilgrims’ excess luggage carriers.

The airlifting of 95,000 intending pilgrims to the Holy Land is expected to begin in the last week of September.
