Village Headmaster Creator Dies at 77

Ambassador Olusegun Olusola the brain behind Village Headmaster, the popular television series that ruled the Nigerian air waves for a very long time, starting from 1968, is dead.

Ambassador Olusola was reported to have died at about 6:30pm on Thursday, June 21, 2012, after a brief illness. The cause of his death is yet unknown as at the time of filing this report.

A veteran broadcaster who started his career at the Nigerian Broadcasting Service in the Ibadan Service station, in 1955. He is also recognized as the founder of the African Refugee Foundation and the Grand Patron of Nigerian Broadcasters Awards. He was appointed Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ethiopia in 1987.

He was born in Iperu-Remo, Ogun State. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
