Immigration officer arraigned

AN Immigration officer, Suleiman Ibrahim, serving in Benue State, has been arraigned before a Makurdi Chief Magistrate’s Court for criminal breach of trust and fraud.

The prosecution told the court that one Deboy Ali of Ayangba, Kogi State, had in June 2011 given the accused person, who introduced himself to him as a car dealer, N3.2 million as part- payment of N3.5 million to buy an Infinity Jeep for him.

The prosecution further told the court that the suspect had asked the unsuspecting complainant to pay the said amount.

The accused person allegedly withdrew the said amount and failed to deliver the car within two months as agreed but instead converted the money to his personal use.

The Chief Magistrate, Dan Ogoh, adjourned the case to August 8, 2012.
